WP: You have quite an extensive health background! Can you tell me about your experience in sports and fitness?

PW: I have been an athlete for over 30 years. I got into fitness at a very young age because of my stepfather. He was very athletic and encouraged me to try many different sports. He was a great example of living a healthy lifestyle. I was on a swim team in my pre-teen years. I ran cross-country in high school, enjoyed working out daily at the gym, and began competing in triathlons in Northern California.

I have also competed in 10k runs, cycling, golf, firearms competitions, and karate. I was the personal training partner and consultant for a two time Hawaii Ironman® Triathlete.

WP: I love your books! They are well written and peaks interest. Tell us about the Strengthbooks7.com website.

PW: I created the website to promote health and wellness and to make my books and sports supplements available online.

I have written and published four Strength Training and Sports Nutrition books for specific sports and groups. My Women’s book is also on Amazon.com.

My goal is to publish a series of books for the following: Triathletes, Golf, Tennis, Boxing, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Soccer, Baseball, Swimming, Running, Basketball, Wrestling, Skiing, and Strength Training for Police and Fire Personnel.

WP: Where did the idea come from?

PW: When I was in Chiropractic College, I completed my certifications in nutrition and strength training and I was unable to find sport specific books that contained concise information on both of these topics. This inspired me to write my first book. I use the latest in scientific research and training methods to make sound recommendations to my readers.

I now have readers in the United States, Australia, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Ireland, Asia, South America, Russia, Serbia, Poland, and Canada.

WP: Do you have any future books in the works?

PW: Yes. I am currently working on “Strength Training and Sports Nutrition for Triathletes”. When finished, it will be over 150 pages long and contain detailed information on building strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, cardio-respiratory fitness, nutrition for endurance, hydration, and rest and recovery techniques.

Additionally, I will use my combined experience as a law enforcement officer and a Doctor to finish my book “In the Line of Fire - Strength Training and Sports Nutrition for Police™”. Officers have very specific nutrition, training, and stress reduction needs that I will address in my book.

WP: What do you feel has been a driving force to get where you are today?

PW: Most of all, I enjoy helping people to reach their fitness and education goals. I enjoy learning, and I am constantly striving to improve my skills as a Doctor. I am self motivated and I look forward to achieving new goals.

WP: What accomplishments or awards have you attained thus far? Tell me about them.

PW:I have received 16 Teaching awards since 2003.

I scored in the 94th percentile on the Nevada State Chiropractic Physicians’ Board Exam.

I received my doctorate in 1999, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic.

Awarded the honor of being included in the 2000 edition of “Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities”.

I scored in the 94th percentile on the Chiropractic National Board Exam Part IV.

Dean’s list for all 10 terms while in school, inducted into the Delta Sigma Honorary Scholastic Society.

I won the C.H.P. 11-99 Foundations Scholarship Competition for outstanding scholastic achievement.

WP: That is an extremely impressive list of achievements. Let’s talk about your personal life: Are you married, dating, any children?

WP: Sounds like you are surrounded by love! You have so much going on in your life! How do you create balance?

PW: I am a very organized person. I try to manage my time efficiently so that I can set aside time for my family and myself to develop the physical, spiritual, and intellectual parts of my life. I enjoy reading and learning.

WP: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

PW: As an accomplished Professor and Department Chair at the University. Being a great father and husband, having all of my books published, and living a healthy, happy life.

WP: What do you consider to be important in life? Why?

PW: Health, family, and my belief in God. I believe that I can accomplish anything with these core values in my life.
