WP: Hello, Jimmy. Let’s begin with you telling us a little about yourself.
JI: I am a very easy going and motivated person. I love having a good time and sharing it with family and friends.
WP: What was it that made you know without a doubt that you wanted to go into bodybuilding?
JI: I always used to work out to look good on the beach. It wasn't until I met my wife who started to compete which inspired me to do the same. Now, we pick a couple of shows a year and do it together.
WP: How long have you been lifting?
JI: I have been weight training for almost 15 years; every since I was a Sophomore in High School.
WP: What titles have you won?
JI: My first year of competing was last year and I won two titles; Fitness Atlantic Overall and Fitness New York.
WP: What competitions have you appeared in and what place did you win?
JI: Besides the two shows I won, I also competed in Miami Universe; which I placed 19th out of 100 fitness models.
WP: That is awesome! What are your best lifts?
JI: I really not a power lifter but last year I benched 365 for 1 at 185 pounds. I thought that was pretty good.
WP: Yeah, I would say that was pretty good! Do you have any advice to people that wish to build more mass and more cut?
JI: The only advice I have is you have to train like you want to look. It's all about what your willing to put into it.
WP: That is great advice! What do you eat in a normal day?
JI: I am pretty much a creature of habit when it comes to my nutrition. I eat almost the same thing at the same time every day.
WP: Do you allow yourself a cheat day?
JI: My wife and I don't have a cheat day but, a cheat meal a week. It is usually Sunday night. We will go out for dinner and sometimes a little desert. We cut cheat meals out 6 weeks out from show
WP: What supplements do you take?
JI: I take for the most part just BCAA's, fish oil, multivitamin, and an ECA stack once in a while. That is pretty much it.
WP: Do you have anyone you can thank for helping you get where you are?
JI: First, I would thank my wife for her support and putting up with me that last week depleting for a show. I also would thank my trainer, Rob Knox, and Cathy Savage Fitness.
WP: Tell me about your modeling.
JI: Well, my modeling is just for fun. I could never really pursue it to the fullest because of my demanding career and my wife, but I am fine with that.
WP: Where do you want to be in 5 years?
JI: I would like to be in the shape I am in now.
WP: You look great! How do you keep the physique you have? What is the hardest thing for you to face when it comes to keeping your physique?
JI: The hardest thing I face is the temptations all around. As long as I stay focused, I will be fine.
WP: When I get tempted, I start thinking about the obesity status these days. It will keep me straight! Tell me about your future projects. Have any in sight?
JI: My next project is a new show in Washington, D.C. called Capitol Muscle Mania.
WP: How do you approach a challenge?
JI: I approach every challenge head on. I feel if you don't challenge yourself you’re cheating yourself.
WP: How do you create balance in your life?
JI: I believe the structure in my life keeps me balanced.
WP: I understand you worked with John at bbpics.com. What was it like working with him?
JI: Working with John was a great experience especially because it was my first photo shoot. He made me feel comfortable and was a pleasure to work with.
WP: Would you recommend him to your friends?
JI: Yes, I would recommend him to friends, because he is so easy to work with.
WP: You mentioned your wife earlier. How long have you been married?
JI: I got married three years ago and there will hopefully be kids in the future.
WP: What is your work out regimen?
JI: I work out pretty 7 days a week with four days of weight training and three days of cardio and abs and calves.
WP: Have you played in sports before?
JI: I played sports all my life. I was a very good baseball player growing up and well rounded in every other sport.
WP: Anything you would like to see change in the bodybuilding world?
JI: Playing sports my whole life, I think training for a bodybuilding show or a fitness show is a lot harder than anything else that I had to put my body through. I would like to change the respect that bodybuilding gets.
WP: True! What are your interests outside of bodybuilding?
JI: My interests are my family and my job.
WP: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
JI: The one thing I would change is my stubborn calves that I train until like a mad man and get very minimal results.
WP: You have been a pleasure to interview! Thank you for your time, and good luck in your future bodybuilding endeavors!
