WP: Hello, Joe. It's a honor to be interviewing you. What was it that made you know without a doubt that you wanted to go into bodybuilding?
JD: Honestly, one day I was at the beach and I was about 15 and I saw this guy who was in amazing shape and he had 2 really hot girls with him. From that day, I started working out.
WP: Ha-ha! How long have you been lifting?
JD: I’ve been in it about 12 years.
WP: What competitions have you appeared in?
JD: I’ve done the Muscle Mania Super Body
WP: What are your best lifts?
JD: Bench Press and Shoulder press.
WP: Do you have any advice to people that wish to build more mass and more cut?
JD: I tell my clients to commit 100%, follow their diet, and make sure they get enough sleep. Do not over train and not to expect to reach their goals over night. It takes a lot of dedication.
WP: That is great advice! What do you eat in a normal day?
JD: I wake up at 4 am and drink a protein shake with 1 cup of dry oatmeal, and little honey, after that I try to eat every 3 hours. I usually have chicken sweet potatoes and broccoli .and filet and another shake after training.
WP:Do you allow yourself a cheat day?
JD: Yes, on weekends.
WP: What supplements do you take?
JD: I take NO-Explode, Whey Protein, ZMA, and a multi vitamin.
WP: Could you tell me a story of how you have gotten where you are today?
JD: Well, I have a different story. I grew up in foster care. I have a brother who is in jail, and 2 sisters I never met. I was part of a really dysfunctional family. I always wanted to escape and pretend that I was normal like all my friends. I started going to the gym and found that working out made me feel good about my self and I made friends with everyone.
Luckily, I had an amazing friend take me under his wing and guided me. His name Mach Man, Randy Savage. I trained with him everyday for 3 years. He also trained me to become a Pro Wrestler. I never made it in because WCW ended up going under but, had an amazing experience and meet everyone in the Biz. I was with him a few times and he would tell everyone I was his up-and-coming star. I have even signed autographs and that was amazing. From that point, I knew I wanted to be famous, but not for the money but for the way everyone looked up too me and how kids saw me as a role model. It felt amazing. I became a Personal Trainer afterwards, as well as a Fitness Model. I have over the past 8 years been in several commercials, infomercials, 3 covers, featured on Sally Jessie and Riki Lake talk shows, as well as Good Morning America. I recently went back to school and got a degree in Acting at The New York Film Academy, as well as Bert Reynolds Acting school. I have hopes of moving to California this year and working as a Actor.
WP: What an amazing story! Do you have anyone you can thank for helping you get where you are?
JD: I always had a lot of people who helped me and guided me. I have always had one role model, Stallone. I had the pleasure to meet him this year.
WP: I would faint if I got the chance to meet him! He is one of my all time favorites! Tell me about your modeling.
JD: I love it! It shows all your hard work and it’s a fun job, being able to travel all over the world.
WP: Where do you want to be in 5 years?
JD: I hope to be an actor in the movies.
WP: You look great! How do you keep the physique you have? What is the hardest thing for you to face when it comes to keeping your physique?
JD: The hardest is working 12 hour days and traveling. When you’re in the gym all day training, it’s hard for me to stay focused on eating and resting, as well as training. For me, getting enough sleep is hard. I have my first client at 4:30 A.M. and last at 8 P.M., so it’s so hard to sleep and train.
WP: Oh, that must be hard. Don't let the world pass you by! Tell me about your future projects. Have any in sight?
JD: I’m working on an independant film now where I am the lead actor. I’m also working on my own workout videos; targeting kids.
WP: What gets you up in the morning?
JD: My dog, Maya, gets me up in the morning. She is a boxer pup and a speed stack drink Ha-ha.
WP: Ha-ha! Awwwww! How do you approach a challenge?
JD: I handle a challenge by running full force. I try to figure out the best method to do everything.
WP: How do you create balance in your life?
JD: Honestly, I balance life with working out.
WP: I understand you worked with John at bbpics.com. What was it like working with him?
JD: Great! He has an amazing way of making you look your best. He’s a great person who goes out of his way to help you.
WP: How did he go over and beyond for you?
JD: He has flown me out to California. He takes amazing pictures.
WP: Would you recommend him to your friends? If so, Why?
JD: Yes, because he’s the best.
WP: Shhhhhh! Listen! I can hear John's head is growing bigger as we speak! Ha-Ha! What one piece of advice you can share with me on how to gain the most muscle the fastest?
JD: Eat, Eat, Eat! It all starts with your diet.
WP: All of your fans want to know if you are married, dating, or kids?
JD: No, no and none that I know of.
WP: ha-ha. None that you know of! Who had the most impact on you growing up?
JD: Stallone did.
WP: What is your work out regimen?
JD: My workout regimen is one body part a day; 5 days on and 2 off.
WP: Is there anything you would like to see change in the bodybuilding world?
JD: I’d like to see more natural athletes being promoted
WP: I agree with you. It's coming! Any shout outs?
JD: Yes! Shout out to Gold’s Gym and Any Time Fitness as well as joedelio.com.
WP: What are your interests outside of bodybuilding?
JD: My interests outside of bodybuilding are volleyball, the beach, skydiving, and snow boarding.
WP: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
JD: I always wished for bigger legs.
