WP: You voted Heather in as Ms. World Physique and you sure picked one of the best! We are honored to have Heather represent our company and hold this title. Heather is 33 years old. She works as a Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Unit. She has been into fitness for most of her life and absolutely love learning more about the industry everyday. She has been married for 4 years to a very supportive husband, Justin. She has two Saint Bernard that are like her children. I'd say they are spoiled! Ha-ha!
Heather, we are so honored to have you with us today. Let's start by talking about how you have gotten where you are today. What has been your stepping stone so far?
HH: Thank you, everyone for voting for me. Your support for me was wonderful. I am speechless. To answer your question, I went to one of Jen Hendershott's PHAT Camps and spoke with her team about competing and within weeks I started to train for my first NCP competition.
WP: You are the second interview this month that has talked about this camp. That must be a really good camp! What has it been like to maintain your physique? Have you done anything different lately?
HH: I really do not do anything different. I always try to eat clean so it is not as hard to "get back" for on-season. When I cheat it's like a big deal to everyone. I just laugh and say, "I’m human, too!!" Who doesn't love chocolate?
WP: Where do you reside now?
HH: I reside in a small city in Connecticut . The town is Meriden it is right in between Hartford, the Capital, and New Haven.
WP: So, you have competed before? Can you tell me more about it?
HH: It is one of the most dedicated sports I know. It's 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When you are preparing for a competition, it pretty much consumes most of your life. You either love it or you don't. The moment you step on stage you know why the previous 12 weeks where well worth all your hard work!
WP: I've never competed, but I can just feel what it would be like. Are you planning to compete again in the future?
HH: I'm planning as we speak! I plan on competing at the NYC Eastern NPC at the Tribecca Theater on November 14th.
WP: I am sure you will do just great! Let me know how you do. What other sports or activities did or do you enjoy?
HH: My husband and I have quads and enjoy riding them as often as we can.
WP: Oh, yeah! Now you are talking! Those are so much fun! What has figure competitions taught you thus far?

HH: It has thought me a whole new way of eating, as well as discipline and dedication. It is completely a mind and body sport. You need to have complete support from the people close to you. I can't say how supportive my husband, family and friends have been. I could never do it without them!
WP: What was the hardest thing for you to overcome when you first started?
HH: The hardest was eating the bland diet. Also, going out to a social event and not being able to pick at the food or have a drink with everyone to celebrate. Simple things that you would never think of until your diet restricts you.
WP: It just keeps you on track at all times. Ha-ha! You have goals! What are the key factors that dictate the way you train today?
HH: When I feel that I can't train any harder. I just stop and think that my competition is probably training harder!!
WP: How has your training changed over the years?
HH: I superset now. I used to simply train with the nautilus equipment. Now I incorporate polymeric and super setting for the most calorie burning workout.
WP: Where do you see your career and life in 10 years from now?
HH: I would love to eventually get my Pro-Card. I have even toyed with getting my Personal Training certificate. I would love to be in the gym more!!
WP: What supplements do you currently take?
HH: I currently take fat burners, protein shakes, complex B and vitamin C.
WP: What are your pet peeves?
HH: My pet peeves are when people don't understand this sport and start to flex when you see them.
WP: Ha-ha! That's a good one! That is so true! What do you consider to be important in life and why?
HH: I truly believe family, friends and your health. Without them I feel you have nothing!
Fitness now is just part of my day. It used to be a chore to go to the gym. Now I look forward to it. Its like "my time."
WP: How have you changed over the past few years when it comes to thinking, actions, and life in general?
HH: My life has changed in the respect that I never know what life will throw at me at any given time. So, I take the punches and enjoy everything for what it is worth!
WP: That's a very positive statement. What are your stats?
HH: I’m currently 5'10" 126 lbs. My waist is 27 inches.
WP: You are tall! Lucky you! Any shout outs?
HH: I can't say THANK YOU enough to all my friends and family! You all ROCK!
WP: Give me an example of your workout.
HH: I do an hour of cardio 7 days a week. I try to mix it up everyday so I do not get bored. Mondays - Arms, Tuesday - Shoulders, Wednesday - Back, Thursday - Legs, Friday - Chest.
